Every once in a while, we at Appamatix like to let our hair down and take a break from helping you work with the trendiest apps out there. Sometimes, we just like to have a little fun. That might take the form of sharing with you the funniest faces on the internet. Or it might be sharing amusing nicknames from around the world. Today, we’re in kind of a strange mood. The Android vs. Apple feud is something very much on our minds here as we bring you the news of the latest apps, and so this got us all distracted and amused by the idea of an android eating an apple.
We thought it was just us until we searched for it on a lark and found all these pictures. So without any further ado, so you can share in our lunacy, here are some pictures of androids eating apples.
Well, Art is Art, isn’t it? Still, on the other hand, water is water. And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now you tell me what you know. — Groucho Marx in Animal Crackers
Android Eating Apple — Funny Photos
FIGHT!
With recent releases of Google’s new Nexus smartphones and the iPhone 6s, the age old battle between Android and Apple is waged once again. On the one hand, Apple has its excellent brand recognition, secure platform, and product integration out the wazoo. On the other hand, Android devices offer a greater variety of user experiences, and let the users do more with their phones. They represent fundamentally different philosophies of design and use, and of course these philosophies are going to butt heads.
And on the other hand (we’re assuming that you’re Zaphod Beeblebrox), there are the Windows Phone users. Both of them.
We’re not here to tell you what to buy. But we can tell you a little about each contender. Personally, we wanna live in a world where there’s more than two options. Lookin’ at you, political parties! When there’s more competition, there’s better innovation, everybody has to step up their game to stay in the game, and the consumer ultimately wins. Sorry, things got a little 10th grade Civics class there. Anywho, here’s a little bit about Android and Apple, because odds are, you currently have one and you’re curious about the other. Grass may be greener, dude.
Android (first only because it is alphabetically first): So, Android came into being in 2003 and was born out of the Linux kernel (operating system). Linux is pretty badass, so of course Android would eventually become that thing, too. The first Android phone came out in October 2008. Android is currently developed by Google; that ain’t too shabby. Android phones boasts all the features that are standard on a mobile smart device nowadays: touch-screen, mobile broadband, fancy camera. Android’s apps are found in the Google Play store, over 1.6 million apps are available. Pretty much every app you use on your iPhone, Android has an equivalent. And Android has moved into the realm of tablets and TVs, wristwatches and cars. Whereas Apple keeps a strict control on its devices, Android lets a variety of developers make both hardware and software for its devices, which often means that there may be a variety of Android options for every price range. Also, every Android version (currently 6, Marshmallow) is named after a dessert…sweet!
Apple: We will not even begin to go into the history of Apple–there are plenty of books and movies detailing and dramatizing that. Let’s just suffice it to say, Apple has some years under it’s belt. In January, 2007, Steve Jobs introduced us to the first ever iPhone. No one can argue that this phone wasn’t a game changer. iOS (originally iPhone OS) is now in version 9. iPhones have all the smart phone things and while touch-screen was a thing before iPhone, one needed a stylus to make it happen. Also, iPhone was able to ride the wave of the incredibly successful iPod. Despite all expectations, iPod took the MP3 player, which at the time was a quaint novelty not likely to do much, and made it ubiquitous. And since iPod became the default MP3 player, it was a cinch moving from that to the iPhone, which was just like the iPod (minus the annoying clickwheel), except it had a camera. Oh, and you could make calls with it. iPhones’ apps are purchased in Apple’s App Store, with over 1.5 million applications available. Apple also has a hand in every pie: tablets, tvs, watches and cars. Of course, its devices are known for being a bit more pricey, reflecting both their rigorous quality control and their killer brand recognition and saturation.
It would appear Apple and Android are neck in neck in the race to bring the next big thing with their newest OS upgrades, both having already won that prize at some point. But we know you have your favorite, the team you’re routing for. So here’s some fun eye-candy of Android eating Apple and Android-eating Apple. Eh? See what we did there?
Android Eating Apple
This is kind of the classic Android eating Apple graphic. You’ve probably come across it before. You can even find t-shirts and decals of it. Simple. Elegant. Says “I know Android is superior; this conversation is terminated. You are the weakest link. Goodbye.” Of course, the more I look at this one, the more I begin to think that maybe he’s not eating the apple at all; maybe he’s eulogizing it like Hamlet with Yorick’s skull.
Not, by the way, a thought you want to have in your head when you look at the next picture.
A little more graphic. We have the sleekness of the symbols juxtaposed against the primal gore of the blood. This is Android eating Apple on an episode of Walking Dead.
Reminiscent of Winnie the Pooh, this Android eating Apple is kind of adorable and makes you want a plush, stuffed Android to cuddle up with every night while your mom reads you Linux codes as you drift into slumberland. And look at that cute, pudgy belly! He’s akin to the Pillsbury Doughboy. Are you also wondering what he’ll when you poke his little tummy? Maybe instead of “hoo-hoo,” he’ll make that “Droid” noise from the original run of commercials.
Look at his tongue! Adorable. This Android eating Apple is very fun. The colors are great and vibrant; the text is cute and playful. Apples are great for eating! This Android encourages healthy food choices. Like Cookie Monster and Michelle Obama.
Watch out! Here’s our first taste of a more 3-dimensional Android eating Apple. Fancy. The shadows and highlights are en pointé.
I wanna watch this Saturday morning cartoon, like, seriously (yes, we are aware there are no more Saturday morning cartoons and it kills our souls a little everyday). It looks like it would be a little scary but pretty freakin’ fantastical. Kinda dark like the best Batman cartoon ever. You know the one.
Who doesn’t love Pac-man? This Android eating Apple is brilliant. BRILLIANT, I TELL YOU! GOOD DAY TO YOU! Whoa. Sorry, we were apparently just possessed by John Oliver. But for real, Pac-man-esque Android eating Apple-esque Blinky, Inky, Pinky and Clyde (they got the colors wrong, though, but we’ll forgive them). Clever.
Another Pooh-like Android eating Apple. This one’s all about the tongue. By the way, anybody who found this article by searching for “eating pooh,” I’m sorry if this isn’t what you expected. I’m also sorry for all of your life choices.
A slightly different take: Android after having eaten Apple. Post-mastication. Android is so thoughtful to put the apple core in the bin. It would have done better to have put it in the compost like it was asked and to take out the trash every once in a while. And change the frickin’ toilet paper roll. Just sayin’.
Anything that says “nom” is an irresistible delight. This Android eating Apple says “nom.” It is an irresistible delight.
Not even sure what to say about this one except it made us laugh. Gotta love the wine bottle and glass. Like, this a classy-ass Android eating an Apple next to a pool.
And the not-so-classy Android pooping an Apple. Or is it pooping on the Apple? You decide.
This one just makes sense.
Whoa. A red Android? And a red Apple? What alternate universe are we in???
Nothing wrong with an Android sitting down and enjoying a nice meal of Apple. Nothing wrong with that at all.
Pahahahahahahahahah!
Okay, Android, you had your fun. Now here’s a taste of your own medicine.
Android-eating Apple
Once again we begin with a simple, elegant sleek design. Two iconic logos. One eating the other. C’est magnifique.
This one plays on the fact that Android releases versions named after desserts. Clever. We would eat that Android ice cream sandwich; why shouldn’t Apple?
Here we have a little role reversal: Apple as Pac-Man; Android probably more like the little pellets than the ghosts. But Pac-Man doesn’t leave a pile of poop behind him. So, someone needs to do a little more research.
This one makes us sad. There should be a trigger warning on this one. So much lunch money. Gone.
Get him shiny Apple! Eat that Tic-Tac, erm, Android.
Once again, we have the now classic “Nom.” Can’t go wrong.
Stuff got real in this one. Damn.
And finally, here’s one that could be read either way. You decide: is this Android eating Apple or Android-eating Apple?
That concludes our episode, Boys and Girls. Whatever you choose to use for your device needs, remember to go register and vote in the next election. What?
